Corey Seager Named Finalist For The Hank Aaron Award

The finalists for the Hank Aaron Award has been revealed and a familiar name has made the list.

Dodger shortstop Corey Seager has been named one of seven National League finalists for the Hank Aaron Award, which recognizes the most outstanding regular season offensive performer in each league.

Seager had an incredible bounce back season with 15 home runs this year. The .585 slugging percentage was a career best in a year the Dodger shortstop ranked among the leaders in hard-hit percentage.

He ranked second in baseball in percentage of barrels per plate appearance (12.1%) and number of hard-hit balls (99), even after missing nearly a week in August with lower back discomfort. Seager’s hard-hit percentage (55.9%) and average exit velocity (93.2 mph) were both career highs.

Fans can help select winners of the award by voting for the National and American League player of their choice at MLB.com/hankaaronaward. Each club nominated one player from its team to be considered for the award.
