Shohei Ohtani Nearly Throws Perfect Game (VIDEO)

Shohei Ohtani nearly threw a perfect game on Sunday, and it was only his second time on an MLB mound.

The two-way Japanese phenom struck out 12 of Oakland A's at his first at home pitching start at Angel Stadium. He only allowed a hit in the 7th inning.

On the hitting side, Ohtani is being called "the Japanese Babe Ruth", batting .389 with three home runs in four games as Los Angeles' designated hitter.

As a pitcher, Ohtani is 2-0 with 18 strikeouts in 14 innings.
