JT ‘the Brick’: Any shot this motivates the Lakers? Is this a rallying cry to Kobe saying ‘let’s do it; it’s The Year of Dr. Buss’? Because on paper, that’s the way it looked at the start of the season when Dr. Buss approved of all these gargantuan moves to get another title.

Shaun Powell: I think Kobe would be on board with that, but only because he had the longest relationship with Dr. Buss. Dwight Howard… I don’t even know if Dwight Howard even met the guy. Same for Steve Nash, because Dr. Buss had been away for the situation for awhile and he’s been hospitalized for a long time. So those guys don’t really have a history with Dr. Buss as Kobe did. So I think Kobe is going to be the lone ranger as far as that’s concerned.
