-Don Mattingly explained why Nathan Eovaldi was pulled from his minor league start after 1 inning on Thursday. Chad Billingsley felt soreness in his groin during his last start in Milwaukee this past Tuesday, but was able to complete 6 innings. So it was a precaution the Dodgers took just in case they would need Eovaldi for a spot start this Sunday (Billingsley's turn). Mattingly said Billingsley is fine and will start on Sunday, no need for Eovaldi.
-Mattingly sat Dee Gordon tonight because he felt like he was "pressing", Dee will be back in the lineup tomorrow. Justin Sellers is playing SS tonight.
I joined a few Dodgers at the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in Houston this morning because Rick Monday knows an Astronaut and arranged for a tour of the Johnson Space Center. Mattingly, Josh Lindblom, and Todd Coffey were on the tour and we got to get inside a Space Shuttle and see how Astronauts prepare for a space walk in a 40 foot deep pool that has a model of the Space Station at the bottom.
-The Astros have only scored 1 run against the Dodgers in the last 4 games they have played.
-Jim Watson told me a pretty interesting stat. Andre Ethier is leading the Majors in RBI off lefties with 9 RBI. Derek Jeter is 2nd with 7 RBI vs south paws.
