Mets, Dodgers Reportedly 'Appear To Be' The Finalists For Trevor Bauer

Cincinnati Reds v Milwaukee Brewers

It looks as if Trevor Bauer could be coming to a decision really soon.

MLB.com's Mark Feinsand mentioned that the Mets and Dodgers "appear to be" the finalists with spring training camps set to open in just a couple of weeks. MLB Network insider Jon Heyman reported that the Mets are engaged in talks with Bauer and expect to hear something one way or another within roughly 24 hours.

The Mets, of course, already made one of the off-season's biggest splashes by trading for shortstop Francisco Lindor last month. In December, they gave a four-year, $40.6 million deal to catcher James McCann. Under new owner, Steve Cohen, the Mets are looking for their first playoff berth since 2016.

Here in Los Angeles, the Dodgers are coming off a World Series champions and have compiled eight consecutive National League West division titles. In L.A., Bauer would join a crowded rotation of standouts, including Clayton Kershaw, Walker Buehler Dustin May, and David Price if he signs on to the 2021 season,

Rachel Luba, appears to have confirmed that only two teams remain in the Bauer sweepstakes:
